DESCRIPTION
Dimethylglycine tablets, provided by Douglas Laboratories, contain pure N,N-dimethylglycine (DMG). Each tablet is foil-wrapped individually to preserve freshness. Tablets are formulated to dissolve rapidly, and are free of any excipients or other additives.

FUNCTIONS
DMG is a natural, methylated derivative of the amino acid glycine. It occurs in low levels in both plants and animals, primarily as an intermediary metabolite. DMG is indirectly involved in a wide array of metabolic pathways. As a significant donor of one carbon methyl groups, it enhances transmethylation processes which are essential for proper functioning of vitamins, hormones, neurotransmitters, enzymes, nucleic acids, and antibodies. DMG further enhances trasmethylation by promoting the synthesis of methionine from homocysteine. Methionine is then converted to S-Adenosylmethionine (SAM), the active transmethylating agent in the body. DMG also generates glycine, which may be converted to creatine, a high energy phosphate molecule used by muscle tissue and the central nervous system. The antioxidant properties of DMG mean it can complex free radical molecules which may cause cell damage if left unchecked.

INDICATIONS
Dimethylglycine tablets may be a useful nutritional adjunct for individuals who wish to supplement their diets with significant amounts of DMG.
